Chase St, Minimalist “Suburban Nightmare” Horror, Out Now on Steam

Chase St

Minimalist horror continues to show us that less can actually be more unsettling. Chase St, an indie project from Ibzy Studios, has launched on Steam as of February 5, 2026, and is built around one of the most primal fears we share: the feeling that something is following you home.

Developed solo by Lee Hobbs of Ibzy Studios, Chase St drops players into the streets of a typical American suburb after dark. There’s no elaborate setup or convoluted mythos, as the objective is disarmingly simple: just get home. However, as you move through the empty neighborhood, the silence fractures and shadowy entities begin to trail you. What begins as a singular presence escalates into something far more oppressive, as the pursuers multiply and accelerate the closer you get to safety.

Hobbs describes the project as an exercise in stripping horror down to its essentials:

I wanted to create something simple that we can all relate to. By using a minimal art style and a familiar suburban setting, the focus stays entirely on the mounting dread of the walk home. It’s a fairly short experience, though the player will find themselves getting lost in the oppressive darkness of the nightmare.

Game Features:

  • Mounting Tension: Shadowy entities increase in number and speed, creating a relentless pursuit that scales with player progress.
  • Unsettling Suburban Setting: A minimalist 3D environment capturing the eerie stillness of an empty neighborhood at night.
  • Subtle Depth: Hidden clues and environmental details hint at a darker mystery beneath the straightforward journey home.

Chase St is available now on PC via Steam, priced at $4.99. At such a price point, this little indie might be a fun one to enjoy at your leisure.
