Alien: Rogue Incursion, the action and horror game set in the Alien universe, which was launched in December, will receive a new version for PS5 and PC that will not require VR. This version, titled Alien: Rogue Incursion Evolved Edition, will be released on September 30th.
The new edition will be optimized to run in high definition at 60 FPS and will be fully adapted to play with controller or mouse and keyboard. The original game, developed by the VR studio Survios, was initially released as a VR-only experience, available on PS VR2, PC VR, and later, Meta Quest 3.
In Alien: Rogue Incursion, players take on the role of Zula Hendricks, a former colonial marine on a dangerous mission on the uncharted planet Purdan. She is joined by an AI called Davis 01. Their mission is to fight their way to the heart of the infested Gemini Exoplanet Solutions research facility. There they will need to survive deadly attacks from the most cunning Xenomorphs ever encountered and discover new horrors and threats that once unleashed could spell the end for humankind.
The Evolved Edition will be available in two editions: the standard edition and a Deluxe edition. The Deluxe edition will include cosmetic items for weapons and armor, as well as a digital art book titled The Art of Alien: Rogue Incursion.
Survios hopes that the non-VR version will expand the game’s audience, as Rogue Incursion is just the first part of a story divided into two episodes. The second chapter is already in development and will continue Zula’s intense journey, introducing new, even more dangerous enemies.
