“The Pines” is a Psychological Horror RPG Where Every Choice Has Consequences

The Pines

The Pines is a solo-developed psychological horror RPG announced by Studio Abattoir. An announcement trailer for the title has also been released, and it looks stunning.

The player takes the role of detective Edward Walker, who is very stressed and tired due to his unresolved case involving a missing girl. To make him feel better, his therapist suggests that he take a break and go to a peaceful place like The Pines. Though the town looked beautiful, calm, and peaceful, it turned out to anything but.

As soon as Edward reaches The Pines, he realizes the place hides dark secrets and that something is wrong with it. Forced by habit or circumstance, he begins investigating again to uncover the mystery.

In the game, you must search for clues and talk to people to uncover the truth about the place slowly. However, every action has its own consequences, not just for your player, but also for others’ behavior.
