Capcom explains why Slant Six was hired to create Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

In a recent interview with german GamePro, producer Masachika Kawata explains the reasons why Slant Six was hired to create Resident Evil: Raccoon City:

” There where a few potential candiates for the job with different technologies and expertise.  The stoppage of Slant Six however was flexible enough to fullfill our expectations. On top of that, the Slant Six team consists of many huge Resident Evil fans. That has kind of finalized our deal in the end.”

Yeah…………Zipper Interactive did the same move, with Six Slant making Socom Confrontation.

    One thing is for sure..

Whether the game turns out great or not.

Is with Slant Six you’ll probably get very little humour or zaniness.

There is a clear difference between Western and Japanese developers especially with shooters. Western developers love more gritty realism. Whereas, Japanese tend to love putting in more colorful personality and zaniness.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City will probably turn out very good but very dry.
