DreadOut update integrates demo content and engine changes

DreadOut, the Fatal Frame inspired Indonesian horror game has been updated to version 1.90 as of yesterday. The changes involved include the content of the game’s demo being added into the game as Act 0. The team says that the demo is integral to the game’s story, so they’ve squeezed it in there as a prologue, which is pretty neat.

The game’s engine framework has also been changed, resulting in asset-optimization for 32bit systems. An HD texture pack for 64bit systems negatively affected by the engine changes is said to be coming soon to address an issue where textures load in lower quality. Additional game settings have been added, although multi-language options have been removed and are set for re-release at a later date.

Developer Digital Happiness warns that the update will break your save file if you’re partway through Act 1, so complete the game first.
