Deep Silver announced today the Ryder White DLC pack, to let players experience the game in a whole new perspective. The story pack is a single-player story driven campaign that reveals how the events of the game went down in the eyes of antagonist Ryder White.

“I always like to think of antagonist characters not as evil, but simply…misunderstood,” says Deep Silver’s Aubrey Norris. “Ryder White was obviously suffering from a massive case of beast mood in Dead Island, and I think it’s only fair we got to learn his side of the story.”

The download pack will feature several hours of gameplay as well as new weapon blueprints. The upcoming add-on comes to the Playstation Network on January 31 for $9.99 and a day later on Xbox-Live for 800 Microsoft Points.

Alan Wake Finland-based developer Remedy has just put up a job listing seeking a Lead Level Designer to join its “AAA console team” to take on the development of a new Xbox 360 title. The listing goes on to describe this prospective project as having a strong focus on “compelling narrative and intense action” asking for interested applicants to hold a strong sense of “drama and storytelling”.

Alan Wake hit the Xbox 360 and it delivered a very fresh and original experience that was tied up neatly in a very well-written story; we reviewed it and gave it the highest possible recommendation and rating. And while Remedy hasn’t “officially” stated that they’re working on Alan Wake 2, such a job listing indicates that they’re either: in fact working on said sequel or looking into bringing another story-heavy IP into the market. We’ll just have to wait and see and hopefully we’ll be shining our flashlights in Bright Falls once more; or maybe a new setting altogether.
