Each game is going to be sold at $5 each on Amazon.com for Digital Download or you can buy a bundle of both games for $10 on Steam. This deal will save you about 30$ in the long run so if you have been dying to get these games at a good sale I don’t think there is any other time to get them.

EA is continuing the theme of generosity they established just prior to the Christmas holiday.  If you’re an Xbox owner, you can snag the Dead Space 2 DLC: Severed for only 280 points, or $3.00 if you don’t speak point-ese.

There’s also a number of other DLC on sale this week too, including Arrival for Mass Effect 2.

Dead Space 2 released almost a year ago, and while it may not be shit-your-pants scary like Amnesia, it is a very tense and fantastic horror experience all it’s own that is littered with great moments, tense survival, and disturbing imagery. Today’s contest is for a Steam copy of Dead Space 2. To win you will need a few things. To enter…

1.) First, you’ll need to have the Steam client for either Windows or Mac. If you don’t have Steam, sign up for it. It’s free.

2.) You’ll also need to know the email that your Steam account is associated with. If you’re not sure what that email is, you can find out or change it by going to to the top of the main window and clicking ‘Steam’. Go down to settings, and it will be your ‘Contact Email’.

3.) You will need a Youtube account. They’re free and easy to make, and most of you have them, so that shouldn’t be a problem.

4.) You’ll need a method to record yourself and post it on Youtube, be it via Webcam, Camcorder, Toaster, whatever.

5.) You will need to give us your Steam email, but to make things easy, please either PM our Youtube channel (RelyonHorror at http://www.youtube.com/user/RelyonHorror ) your Steam email with the channel you are entering the video contest with, or put the email your Steam account is associated with in the description of your video.

6.) Now how to enter into the contest. We will need users within the next two days (due date at 8 PM PST Time (11 PM EST Time) on January 23rd) to make a video for their channel and post it as a video response to the video below. The requirements of the video:

-It must be a live video recording of yourself. No other videos, be it gameplay, television show, or otherwise may be used.

-It must be made a video response to the video below.

-In the video, you must yell out at some point this quote from Dead Space 2: “FUCK YOU, AND FUCK YOUR MARKER!!”

TIP: The video can be anything, it just has to include you at some point yelling the quote as well as it being a video recorded by you. It can have other people in it, and they can yell the quote as well, but it must be yelled in the video. This contest isn’t randomized, so the most entertaining video will win. The video can be about anything, it can be just you yelling it, a skit, or anything else, as long as the quote is yelled at some point in the video. Again, most entertaining video wins.

The winner will be selected among those who fulfill the video requirements based on which video is the most entertaining. People may enter as many videos as they like. The contest will end 8 PM PST Time (11 PM EST Time) on December 23st. The winner will be notified of winning via email a little after that time, along with the game gifted to their email. If it’s not redeemed in 24 hours, another winner will be selected.

The latest PlayStation Store update has spawned a digital version of Dead Space 2 for the price of $29.99. And if you’re a PlayStation Plus member you’ll be able to download a full game trial version. Despite what people may think about the whole digital versus physical copy debate, I think it’s quite nice that Dead Space 2 is being brought out again, now in a digital format. The game came out all way back in the beginning of the year, meaning that despite its awesomeness, it’s most likely going to get lost in the shuffle amidst all the other triple A games that have come out since– especially in this very busy season we’re in. I’ll tell you one thing, though, Dead Space 2’s sure going to be one of our nominees for our annual horror game of the year award next month.

Dead Space is going for $9.99; that’s 50% off the original price. The bigger and faster sequel is going for a measly $14.99. Both can be purchased together for $19.99. Two great modern horror games for a low price. I highly recommend checking out the series if you have yet to.

While the first is slower and more in vein with traditional survival horror, the sequel offers up a more frantic experience. Take your pick. The sale ends tomorrow.

Looks like EA was at one point planning on porting Dead Space 2 to the Wii. Now it has been scrapped completely as indicated by the job portfolios of EA designer Gerry Sakkas and freelance developer Matt Spriggens.

The Wii is no stranger to the Dead Space franchise, having received the once exclusive prequel Dead Space: Extraction. It never received a port of the original game though, and seeing how EA was at least considering having a port of Dead Space 2 on the Wii probably suggests that the publisher still has intentions for the franchise on the Wii. Why not release something for the 3DS?
