Zombi Coming to PS Plus, Dead Space free for Xbox Live Gold members

Sony has had a lot of flack for their PS Plus lineups of late, with lots of users complaining that their offerings have been pretty poor, focusing on the same genre of side scrollers or other “indie” games which are apparently undesirable. This month, that might be changing if you consider Ubisoft’s London-based survival horror FPS Zombi to be a good game as it is being offered for free as part of the PlayStation Plus games for April. Casper reviewed it back when I launched for Wii U and reportedly the PS4 version is near enough identical but obviously without the WiiU’s second screen functionality. He liked it, but I’ve never played it so I’m quite interested to see what it’s about.

The second title this month is Zombi, a survival-horror FPS from the sameUbisoft studio that brought us Rayman and Beyond Good & Evil. Given that legacy it’s easy to see why this is such an intriguing title! The London setting combined with deliberately-paced gameplay really sets Zombi apart as something a little different within its genre. Add-in the extra challenge of the ‘permanent death’ feature and it’s easy to see why this game has become a cult favourite. – via the PS Blog

Xbox owners don’t miss out though – if you subscribe to Xbox Live, this month you’re in for a treat. Microsoft is offering the original (and best) Dead Space as their Xbox 360 Games with Gold title which is will now be supported through Xbox One backward compatibility. If you’re a gold subscriber, you’ll be able to download Dead Space at no extra cost between 1st – 15th April. Backwards compatibility will go live on April 1st.

Let us know if you’d like to see either of these streamed on our Twitch channel as the team will likely be playing them anyway!
