Upcoming Texas Chainsaw Massacre film will pick up where the original left off

Looks like we’re getting another film in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise. Lionsgate, now fully done with the Saw series, has just bought the rights to produce the upcoming Leatherface film. The movie will pick up directly where the 1974 original left off and yes, it will ignore the events of the sequel: The Next Generation.

The film will be in 3D and it will pick up 35 years after the events of the first film. And what could possibly make this news better? Adam Marcus of Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday fame will be penning the script for this upcoming 3D sequel. When this new film comes out it’ll be the 5th installment in the classic horror franchise. The question is: Are you excited?
