Ugh, DmC released today

That atrocity called DmC released in stores, today. Because of this, Ninja Theory (more like poop heads who steal good series) released a new trailer to commemorate the launch. Ugh.

I reviewed this blasphemous, black haired beast. It was everything I expected it to be. With it’s stupid colors, stupid music, and stupid Dante, DmC is receiving critical praise against all odds. It’s like they think it’s a good game or something. That doesn’t matter, because it lacks good writing and acting, it’s lewd, has terrible music, and the new Dante is such an immature and unlikable jerk! Meh!

That’s a joke, folks. You’re free to dislike the new game. Let’s just not pretend the original series was something it wasn’t (outside of the combat).

    “Critical appraise”
Sure pal, these last years the gaming press has totally proven that they are totally non-corrupt.

  • QMX

Wow, it seems that some “journalist” needs to grow up.

…It’s a joke. He even states so. He gave the game a 9.5/10.

    • Koulamatata

      Not sure if serious.

He was pretty clear with the whole “That’s a joke, folks. You’re free to dislike the new game” part that it was a joke.

What was that game you linked in the “unlikable” part? It’s weird, it looks like it’s a Devil May Cry game yet I swear it never existed before today. Hmm…

The smirk at the top just makes it, somehow.

“It’s like they think it’s a good game or something.” LOL

  • katarokinimoto

I like that last part about not pretending the old devil may cry was
something it wasn’t, because honestly all these “purist” fans have
nothing to complain about. The best thing in the old games was the
combat which is relatively the same, even better really. Other than that
the characters were cookie-cutter shonen anime, the dialogue was full
of laughable one-liners that would make duke nukem cringe and the plot
was–wait these games had a plot before now?!!!
When you compare these changes to what Capcom did to Resident evil it should honestly be a no-brainer that they actually did the series justice here.

    • ariessiren

tell me about it. i could not stomach DMC3 dialogue or the young dante. it was never known for its acting or dialogue. never. ninja theory remaking this was a dream come true. anyone who has played heavenly sword and enslaved knows they are top notch

    • Swcloud99

But that was the good thing about it. It was ridiculous over the top anime. They westernized it and that’s the only thing I have against it.

I don’t like that it’s a reboot either. Series should never be rebooted. Start a new IP or gtfo.

      • katarokinimoto

What’s funny is a lot of americans think that’s what makes an anime an anime, but in japan that’s viewed as trash sooo… just sayin’. I personally like the idea of the series having a theme, plot and art direction aside from the standard cocky protagonist with ridiculous claymore killing demons in a world where everything adheres to lolita fashion. It’s still plenty over the top anyway.

        • Swcloud99

I don’t agree at all. It worked. It never took itself seriously.
But if you think it’s trash then don’t you think it should be, pardon the pun, trashed?
Why keep it alive if it’s bad? Reboots should never happen.

          • katarokinimoto

This is my last word on this, the new games good, it’s fun like the old ones just more serious, it can just stand alone like that. And I was saying what your calling “anime” style is really what the japanese consider immature trash for teens and not at all representative of anime, at least not good anime. My opinion on trash or reboot? I hate the direction resident evil headed in, but I’d rather that than just trashing the series. Nevermind that resident evil’s REmake is one of my favorite game of all time.

          • Swcloud99

For my part I completely disagree. I think they should have made Re4 an ending to the series and made what 4 was a completely new IP.
Nevermind that 4 is a great game. Same for Devil May Cry. DmC might be great but I don’t care because it doesn’t fit in the same continuity has the games I cared about. It’s a completely new game with the same name and that’s just in bad taste has far has I’m concerned.
I’d also like to say that Devil May Cry was always aware of what it was and that there’s nothing wrong with something immature if that immaturity is voluntary and comes from a good place. I think it’s wrong to call Devil May Cry 3 immature trash for teens.
Was it immature? Yes. Was it aimed at teenagers? Yes. Was it trash? I really don’t think so.

          • katarokinimoto

okay you’re clearly more than content to repeat yourself, but I’m really not so I’m just going to clarify something. I am not saying old dmc was trash, pay attention to wording:
“what your calling ‘anime’ style is really what the japanese consider immature trash for teens” I do not see
“what I consider immature trash for teens” anywhere in there. Since the anime aspect is not the core of devil may cry, but the gameplay itself is I don’t even see how calling the plot trash would be calling the game trash

      • ariessiren

maybe to you but anyone ive ever shown dmc too, literally laughed at how stupid and childlike it was. kinda embarassing actually. gameplay was great, everything else was a anime fan only love. it needed ninja theory BAD. even capcom didnt like it anymore

  • handsomejack47

If you play the Devil May Cry series in general for the plot, you’re gonna have a bad time.

  • ariessiren

    so hot!!

I bough tthis game not expecting too much from it , but wow !! it’s an amazing game and 10 times better then dmc4 ( to me) the game play and level design is amazing , just a shame the did not add Trish.

Also nice “The Room” refrence XD

Lol! Nice post! I was reading it and I was like, “Is this a joke!?” I liked the story, music, acting, and gameplay of all the DMC games, including this one. Actually, especially this one. It might be the best in the series. The acting is fucking unbelievable compared to what I was expecting and on its own. DMC 3 might have had better music though, but the soundtrack is still killer. Needs a god damn lock-on though.

Whoa, it’s been a while since I last had so much fun playing a game.

  • EvilResident

I was really confused until the last paragraph! I followed the links as I read it…
