The Walking Dead – Multiplayer coming this fall

Before you get your hopes up, The Walking Dead – Multiplayer is not what you’re probably thinking it is.

Back at the beginning of the year, we brought you news that a plug and play TV game was coming to The Walking Dead franchise.  While there wasn’t a whole lot of information given out at the time, it told us all we really needed to know.  A little part of us hoped that we’d never have to deal with it again.  Because while we’re sure the guys at JAKKS, the developers of the title, have good intentions, we can’t think of a person that hasn’t been a little let down by a plug and play TV game.

The Walking Dead – Multiplayer.  The game is on its way, slated for a Fall 2012 release.  The game will feature a plastic pump-action shotgun and contain multiple levels of zombie adventures.  Adventures which consist of shooting.  The ESRB has listed the following:

This is a first-person shooter in which players must rescue urban survivors from a zombie apocalypse.  Players use shotguns, rifles and crossbows to kill waves of zombies that lurch toward the screen; enemies emit green splashes of blood when hit.  Bonuses are awarded for successful headshots (e.g.: “Try to get 10 headshots in a row”), and players lose points for shooting/killing unarmed civilians.  Red blood effects appear on screen when players’ character incurs damage.

The title is given a Teen rating for blood (even though it’s green) and violence.  But we’re a little confused on the title.  Is it two-player?  Does it come with two plastic shotguns?  Or do you take turns with anyone willing to sit down and play this with you that isn’t over the age of 6?

i hope all these Walking Dead concepts and games will not turn into a mess and something that losses it’s overall charm. What we are continuing to play with the chapters is perfect. More and more as things change they lose the idea of where it ll started. Look at Resident Evil and Silent Hill. The best two series survival games made and look what happened to them. Dead Space is great but more action based. The Walking Dead is a new idea and keeps the charm of the show or comic book. i’m just saying to much appeal and change can sink a great idea into convenience and boredom.
