Some The Walking Dead: The Game owners seeking a refund due to glitches

Despite selling over 8.5 million episodes, some people are saying that The Walking Dead: The Game has too many glitches.  Growing tired of the game’s incessant glitches, they’re demanding a refund.  Some, PC and Mac owners, a little disheartened by Telltale’s response to their problems and lack of a fix have gone so far as to  file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in an effort to get their money back.

In an effort to get more attention to the cause, a reader e-mailed Kotaku saying

The reason I am contacting you is that perhaps it is time to hold developers to a higher standard of contact and communication. If no one cares and just buys the same broken product over and over and over again, we should only blame ourselves when the market is flooded with bugged games and no support. I am tired of games with no support or no real help from the developer. It is their product and they should either fix the problem or give the money back to the individual who trusted them to provide something of quality.

It’s agreeable that if you’re reaching out for support and no one is on the other end to help you, you can’t help but feel a little frustrated.  Particularly when you shell out some money for a game and it simply doesn’t work.  Or far worse, you invest not only money, but time into a game and suddenly it all crashes and burns before your eyes.

Thankfully, I haven’t experienced any game-crashing bugs.  As a matter of fact, I haven’t experienced any major glitches while playing the game to date.  I may just be particularly lucky.  Have you experienced some bugs in your game?  Were you able to finish it?

I’ve talked with around ten or so friends that own the Steam version, myself included, that have had no problems with the game. I think its isolated to consoles man.

The game froze completely twice, so I had to reload a save. I also had a ton of lag issues during some of the transitions, which cost me decisions and sometimes even a survivor. There were a lot of times where the audio plays but the animations are late. I have the PS3 disc version.

This is what the industry needs, we fund it, we make the rules.

I do agree about holding developers/publishers accountable. while i had no crashes or bugs on walking dead only performance issues, which plagues almost every game, there are many games that are beyond broken this applies to. Silent Hill HD collection was one of them. gamers should cause more of an uproar and demand refunds vs just talking about the complaints. i see this as a good thing. maybe developers/publishers should realize the consequences. I reported Konami to the better business bureau and the ps3 got patched. more should do this.
