Silent Hill Revelation looking to release in either late spring or early fall

Don Carmody, producer behind the Silent Hill and Resident Evil movies, recently got in touch with horror movie site Shock Till You Drop about the potential release date for the upcoming Silent Hill Revelation.

Carmody tells the site that the movie might release late spring or early fall of 2012. He also tells Shock that the film is “locked” and the sound and score are being worked on. I guess the summer isn’t the prime time to release a horror film.

Starring Adelaide Clemens, Kit Harington, Radha Mitchell, Sean Bean, Deborah Kara Unger, Carrie-Anne Moss and Malcolm McDowell, Silent Hill Revelation is the 3D sequel to 2006’s silver screen adaptation of Silent Hill.

The first film had mixed reception among fans, but with a new writer/director at the helm, this film might be better than the last. I never hated the first film. I thought it looked beautiful, and despite the massive plot changes and misuse of Pyramid Head, I enjoyed it. Hopefully fans and movie-goers alike will be treated to a much better adaptation next year.

    Fingers crossed for late spring.
I’d rather not wait until fall. No thanks.

^thats what I was thinking, hopefully we’ll get one soon..

    That’ll be the ‘fall’ then.

Hope it’s spring though, apart from being sooner, it’ll be cliser to the release of the upcoming collection of games. Perhaps the film and games will drive one-another’s sales?

  • I am so excited for this movie. The first one was different from the games but certainly not as blasphemous as the Resident Evil films. I enjoyed it and I have high hopes for the sequel.

Can we get a trailer soon, please?

This movie would be slaughtered by the summer blockbusters coming out so I’d guess that’s what the possible dates are all about.

I’m looking forward to the movie, I enjoyed the first one.

The first movie was as good as a game-to-movie adaptation can get i.e. very good!
    can’t wait for the sequel!
hopefully the new director knows what he’s doing.
