Series producer reveals that Devil May Cry could be expanded

DmC Definitive Edition stayed true to its name, providing fans with the best way to play this controversial entry in the beloved action series. And soon, we’ll get our hands on a remastered edition of the last traditional Devil May Cry game with the release of Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition (complete with multiple playable characters) sometime this summer.

Capcom is giving the series a great deal of love recently, not just with the aforementioned releases, but also with the exposure DMC4SE has been getting by way of streams showing off the updated gameplay. It seems like we’re due for a brand new game, right?

Well, it could certainly happen! In an interview with a Hong Kong gaming publication, series producer Hideaki Itsuno confirmed that Capcom feels that the series could definitely be expanded. It all depends on how well DMC4SE is received, the producer stated.

I was always under the impression that the future of the series would be dictated by which game ends up selling better: DmC Definitive Edition or DMC4SE. I’m one of the strong supporters of Ninja Theory’s reimagining of the series, so I’m actually excited about the idea of a DmC sequel. But I’ll gladly take Devil May Cry 5, too!
