Project X Zone is the 3DS Capcom-SEGA-Namco SRPG game; starring company icons

The Capcom x SEGA x Namco-Bandai 3DS game has finally been revealed to be an SRPG (Tactical role-playing game) featuring characters from games made by all three companies, including Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, and Dante being playable from Capcom’s side. In lots of ways seeming like a spiritual sequel to NamcoXCapcom, but with SEGA involvement, characters come in pairs to battle on monsters with traditional sprites for characters and 3D backgrounds. The confirmed characters so far include Chris & Jill (Resident Evil), Dante (Devil May Cry), Ryu & Ken (Street Fighter), X & Zero (Mega Man X), and Demitri (Darkstalkers) for the Capcom side. SEGA has Shinguji Sakura & Ogami Ichiro (Sakura Wars), Pai & Akira (Virtua Fighter), Kurt & Riela (Valkyria Chronicles), Ulala (Space Channel 5), and Touma (Shining Force EXA). Finally, Namco-Bandai’s cast includes Yuri Lowell & Estelle (Tales of Vesperia), Sanger Somvold (Super Robot Wars), Jin & Ling Xiaoyu (Tekken), Kos-Mos & T-elos (Xenosaga), and Kaito & Black Rose (.Hack).

Unfortunately it seems it might be unlikely this game will see release outside of Japan, but no word has been given at this time. This isn’t a horror game, but we’ll bring any news about the game that involves horror stars that may make an appearance in this game. This certainly is an interesting development.
