NYCC 2012: DmC gets a new trailer and details

Capcom’s presence at New York City Comic Con has provided us with a new trailer for DmC. It’s not that long of a trailer but it gets the job done when released alongside some bits of information from the show floor.

I didn’t have the opportunity to make the panel for DmC, but Joystiq has. Revealed is Mundus’ return and release details. DmC producer Alex Jones has revealed that the game will receive a downloadable demo for consoles. The PC version of the game–which didn’t have an announced demo–will also run at the highly desired 60 FPS, unlike the console versions. Some “novelty” modes available after the game’s campaign were also announced.

I finally had the chance to try the game for myself, and I have to say that I enjoyed it. The combat is heavily reliant on switching between triggers for the Angel and Demon weapons; it’s a bit jarring at first but I started to get the hang of it. The music during the wormy “fuck you!” boss, was also pretty awesome. Ninja Theory, I thank you for dropping that terrible and garbled metal that made Devil May Cry 4 such a pain in the ears.

DmC releases on January 15th for Xbox 360 and PS3, whether you like new Dante or not.

No wub wub either. I just want Combichrist.

      • SirRoggers

Sorry. To a guy whos been growing up on Massive Attack, Portishead and Tool anything non psychedelic is either metal or a pop/dubstep. But I had a quick listen on Youtube to Compichrist music and wile not entirely my cup of tea its at least colourful and varied….

This game really, really needs a Lockon button. There’s no reason 2 evade buttons have to exist.

    • Paexie

Well, the reason there is two evade buttons is so you would be comfortable using them in tandem when holding down either trigger. So it makes sense if you ask me.

That’s BS that only the PC version runs at 60fps when the previous game ran at 60fps on consoles. Especially since Devil May Cry is historically more of a console game and the vast majority of players will be playing on console. Gotta hate this multiplatform age where you rarely ever get the best possible version of any particular game. I support a future where all games are made for one unified console.

I like DMC4′s music, and therefore think your opinion doesn’t matter and that you are a JERK. ON THE INTERNET.

That said, Combichrist is a pretty good choice for what they’re going for with DmC. It fits the aesthetic and style, and it certainly fits New Dante more than what I can only describe as “Cheesy Metal” from the rest of the series.
