Nightmare in Northpoint DLC for Sleeping Dogs sounds amazing

United Front has finally revealed their horror themed DLC for Sleeping Dogs. “Nightmare in Northpoint” will be adding some goofy horror to this excellent openworld title. In the DLC, Wei Shen must fight a new supernatural enemy, the Jiang Shi–vampire-ghost-zombie-things.

The main baddie in “Nightmare in Northpoint” is Big Scar Wu, an ex-triad member that was betrayed by the Sun On Yee because of his ruthless nature. Big Scar Wu has come back from the dead to exact revenge upon the Sun On Yee and Wei Shen, protagonist of Sleeping Dogs. Big Scar Wu was killed in a cat food factory, so his otherworldly form has been renamed Smiley Cat–a name that he does not appreciate.

With Jiang Shi spirits possessing the people of Hong Kong, Smiley Cat brings forth a formidable challenge for Wei Shen. As Wei Shen, expect to utilize Chinese magic to fight off Smiley Cat and his Jiang Shi army.

In the same spirit as Red Dead Redemption, Sleeping Dogs is adopting horror themed DLC in order to spice things up in an already amazing game. I personally can not wait for this content to arrive. It looks and sounds amazing. Expect it to release on Halloween for PS3, Xbox, and Steam.

Makes sense, considering the seemingly random dragon and flaming concubines from the first game. Kind of glad they embraced this, that goofiness was one of my favorite things about True Crime.

I wouldn’t consider this game a True Crime game. Even though this game was branded “True Crime” at one point, it was originally began as a new IP. Once the branding fell, it resumed it’s new IP status.

Anyway, this game was totally amazing. Extremely underrated like most great games such as Shadows of the Damned and Deadly Premonition.

I just noticed a million mistakes in my grammar above. Go me!
