New Silent Hill screens from the past and future

Konami is celebrating Comic-Con with the good old Silent Hill spirit. They have released a few new screenshots today for two upcoming Silent Hill games.

The very first screens of the Silent Hill: HD Collection have finally been released! Against what some fans expected, James Sunderland’s face has not changed; he looks as good as ever. Some expected a change due to Guy Cihi, the original voice actor for James snapping back at Konami for residuals he believes he is due. James’s appearance was modeled after Cihi, and fans expected it to be altered for this re-release. Thankfully that is not the case.

Only two screens for the HD Collection, but the game looks nice so far. Expect the Silent Hill: HD Collection to release this Fall for the Playstation 3.

Next up we get a glimpse of the future of the series. Konami has released several new screenshots of Silent Hill: Downpour taking place in the same areas as the E3 demo. I’m not sure what’s going on, but these screens don’t look all too great. My bet is that they were held off from press and are from an earlier version of the game. The E3 trailer and gameplay demonstration look miles ahead in terms of graphics. Funky screens or not, I am excited to revisit the old and visit the new when both games release this fall.
