Naughty Dog tells us how the infected were created

The Last of Us was recently delayed and, while the decision was clearly made to provide us with a better game, it’s still a shame that we need to wait a little longer before we can adventure with Joel and Ellie. To make this wait a little more bearable, Naughty Dog has released a video in which they reveal how their iconic “Infected” were created.

I’ve always enjoyed taking a peek behind the scenes, which I totally recommend doing as well if you happen to be an aspiring game-designer. The video included below shines some light on how a design is thought up and eventually realized. If you aren’t interested in art-design or just don’t care for working in the industry, then this clip also has some scenes from the game in it.

The Last of Us is currently scheduled for release on June 14 2013.

Okay, I’ll confess. I was very pessimistic when I first pressed play. I though it was going to be yet another rehashing of a generic zombie virus/post-apoclyptic world premise. But although it’s still noticeably close to it, I dare say that there is actually some originality and it’s actually pretty interesting! Evil fungus controlling people- that’s pretty awesome! Bravo, Naughty Dog! Bravo!

Add this to the list of “Games I’ll eventually play when I finally get a PS3.”

The wait for this game only gets harder and harder, it looks incredible.
