Metro: Last Light Developer Pack launches today

Deep Silver have announced that the Metro: Last Light‘s Developer Pack DLC  is set to launch on Steam, XBL and PSN today, with the PSN EU release dropping tomorrow. The DLC will retail at only $3.99 / £3.19 / €3.99 for several new objectives to choose from.

The Shooting Range will allow players to experiment with every weapon and attachment combination possible, even those unavailable in the actual game, to test out the infinite possibilities and efficiency of weapons. Each weapon will have its unique marksmanship challenges for the player to complete.

In a similar manner to the Shooting Range, there will be a mode named AI Arena, in which the player can pit groups of AI monsters, key characters, or humans against each other to see how they will fare. There is another set of challenges for this mode that the player can complete.

The Metro Museum is a new feature in which you can browse the models of characters from the game, human enemies or monsters, up close and personal like.

Last, but certainly not least, the DLC will feature a solo mission in which the player, carrying only a lighter, torch and flamethrower, has to make their way through a spider-infested lair. In pure survival horror style, the areas are cramped, the arachnids are aplenty, and you also have to maintain your oxygen filters for the gas masks as well as the lighter fuel.

In my opinion this DLC seems very diverse, and the spider’s lair would certainly give any arachnophobe the creeps (pun not intended). The price you have to pay to get this is very small compared to what you gain, and I’ll definitely be looking into getting this ASAP myself! The last DLC pack, Chronicles, featuring three new story missions is set to arrive later this month. In the meanwhile, enjoy this DLC if you decide to get it, and say hi to the spiders for me!

Deep Silver releases ‘Developer Pack’ Add-On Content

Larkspur, Calif., September 17, 2013 – Deep Silver today released the ‘Developer Pack’ – the third piece of add-on content for Metro: Last Light and a kit that offers several opportunities to re-design the gameplay of the critically acclaimed first person shooter. It is now available worldwide on Steam and the Xbox Live online entertainment network from Microsoft, and the PlayStation®Network in North America. It will be available on the PlayStation®Network in Europe and the rest of the world tomorrow, September 18th.

There are three main parts to the Developer Pack:

• Players can experiment with every gun and attachment combination in the Shooting Range, and complete unique marksman challenges for each weapon
• The AI Arena allows players to pit customisable squads of human soldiers and mutants against each other, or prove themselves in several challenges
• Lastly, players can explore Metro’s cast of characters, and human and mutant foes, up close in the ‘Metro Museum’

The Developer Pack also includes an original solo mission – The Spider’s Nest – that will truly test the nerves of arachnophobes. Use your wits, your lighter, your torch… and the brand new Flamethrower to escape from a spider infested catacomb…

The Developer Pack costs $3.99 / £3.19 / €3.99, and is the third of four add-on content packs to be included in the Metro: Last Light Season Pass, which at $14.99 / £11.99 / €14.99 offers a discount over buying the packs separately, and also includes an additional exclusive weapon, the Abzats.

The final add-on content release for Metro: Last Light – the ‘Chronicles Pack’ – will arrive later this month and features three original single player missions that cast the player as four of the game’s standout characters – Pavel, Khan & Ulman, and Anna – and explore their side-stories away from Artyom’s adventure
