Scott Cawthon, the Christian games developer best known for his Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise, is no stranger to criticism. Even in the early days of his Freddy’s series, people were eager to demonize the simplistic, jump-scare structure of the game. After four entries and an upcoming movie, though, hatred has gotten vile enough to prompt a response.

In a letter posted on the fourth game’s Steam Community Hub, Scott addresses haters and fans alike and shares the story behind his career. It details his past jobs and current lifestyle, revealing that he isn’t the greedy monster some people might believe him to be. It starts off on a sad note, but becomes more motivating towards the end when the fans and budding developers are thanked and cheered on respectively.

I am not here to review a letter, though. Click on the source below to read it yourself and let us know what you think.
