Game play footage from The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct (Update: video removed)

I love to be scared - the anxiety, the adrenaline. Whether its being enveloped by a good book, teetering on the edge of my seat in the theatre or plunging head-first into the world of survival horror, I want to be there.

Update: The video has been removed by the uploader. Are we ever going to get a good look at this game prior to release?

While it might not do much to change your mind on Terminal Reality’s upcoming first-person shooter, video footage of The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct has made its way onto the web.  The footage shows the first 8 or so minutes of the game, due for release in a few short days.

Honestly, it’s not the prettiest looking game I’ve ever seen, that’s for sure.  But admittedly, I haven’t seen a whole lot of it.  The voice-acting is half-decent and in the first few moments we’re treated to a little bit of the back-story of everyone’s favourite redneck.  The recording appears to have been taken from the Xbox 360 version, so it’s possible that this isn’t the highest-quality the game can achieve.  The Wii-U version might have a bit more polish to it.

What do you think?  Still a go or still a no?  Has the video changed your mind at all?

    The only reason I would play this would be because of the story but even then that’s a stretch. How could a series that is so insanely popular with both gaming and non gaming folks have such a terrible looking/playing game? You’d think they’d actually take some pride in this and put some effort. Who know, it could have been a super popular series… but this? I don’t even… *Looks up developer & publisher* Oh, I see… Well, that explains that, at least.

    Activision did it so since we know their work (half assed with every single title they make) then we already know how this game will turn out, the gameplay already looks like something someone threw together with FPS maker or a demo kit for unity. the voice acting is that of resident evil 1, darly uses a knife here… or a stick maybe since its about as sharp as a spoon. graphics look rushed. but really… what are we expecting from activision exactly? real work? yeah that wont happen with them. just give them the 60 dollars for their 2002 tech demo with “the walking dead’s” name on it.

      I think that’s pretty unfair, there are quite a few good Activision published games.

        Its a pretty fair assessment of their attitude towards licensed games, this looks exactly like 00 Legends all over again and that was terrible. I’ve noticed Activision are working very hard to kill this video before anyone sees it, already both the links here don’t work.

          That should tell you about the quality of the game. They must not be very satisfied with the results.

          Yeah, I agree about some of their licensed games, but not all games. Most of their licensed Spider man games are pretty good.

          Then again, that could be said about most licensed games in general, not just from Activision. They can’t all be the Batman Arkham games.

    So, honestly I’m worried that Activision is going the distance to show is NOTHING on this game. I do like some of the Terminal Reality games in the past, so I’m not going to write this off just yet. Also, let’s keep in mind that Tell Tale’s game was filled with bugs and glitches, had clunky controls, and it was nothing special to look at. Yet it was a fantastic game, so let’s give this a shot before writing it off. It appears to have according to a recent interview some very important survival horror elements. Developers called it “not a shooter, but a survival game”. We are in desperate need of more games like that. Also is 40 bucks….

    Or it could be total crap, so let’s just wait and see :P
