Friday the 13th Kickstarter ends with $823,704 pledged (Update: First Gameplay Revealed)

Gun Media’s Friday the 13th: The Game has concluded its Kickstarter, surpassing its goal by $123,704. At $823,704, Friday the 13th: The Game has reached 5 stretchgoals, unlocking 4 additional kills – the sleeping bag kill, mirror smash, head crush, and ripping a heart out of a chest.

Having started out as a different game named Summer Camp, Friday the 13th: The Game may be a bit farther into development than most Kickstarter games. It’s set to release on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 next October. If you haven’t already read our interview with the team behind the game, check that shiz out right now!

Who’s excited!? I know I am. I’m a firm believing in multiplayer horror, and a high-profile game being built with asymmetrical horror multiplayer in mind, with such an awesome IP, makes me giddy.

Update: IGN has released the first gameplay footage of the game in action, with members of the development team going up against each other. The footage is from the game Pre-Alpha, so it doesn’t look fantastic, but it’ll give you an idea of how the game will look and play … just less polished.
