DmC prequel comic series has begun

I'm a college student with a huge passion for gaming; horror being my favorite genre. I like to write about games in my spare time. When I'm not writing, I'm playing or talking about them. Hopefully this continues into what ever future employment I find myself in.

A comic prequel to DmC: Devil May Cry has released its first issue, digitally. The Chronicles of Vergil issue one is now available from digital comic provider ComiXology for use on mobile devices and the Kindle Fire. The two-part series has been written by Guillaume Dorison and illustrated by Robin Recht and Patrick Pion.

A physical version of the comic will hit stores on May 15th, while the follow up will arrive on June 19th.  The comic, along with the upcoming “Vergil’s Downfall” DLC will be expanding the background and motives of Dante’s fancy brother. While I’m no longer a comic guy, I think I’ll check this out. Sequel ideas have been moving around my noggin for some time now. Color me interested in where there series is going.

    This sounds awesome! Originally stoked for the game, I became leery after its release and I started to hear about how it “flew in the faces of the fans…” This worried me somewhat, as I loved the original games. But after playing it, I found the game to be more than impressive and this game’s Vergil is outstanding. I can’t wait for the DLC and now I want this comic. (Heck I’d buy and wear his coat if I could find a decent one with the embroidered skull on the back!)

    Couple quick questions, what’s the page count? And is it more gimmicky or are we looking at some substance here?

    i just finished the game on pc and i really liked the story. excited to get the dlc :)
