DmC Eye of Dante app lets you see evil

Capcom has announced quite the odd companion app for the upcoming DmC. Taking the concept behind Dante’s ability to see the hidden messages left by demons in the real world, Capcom has teamed up with Augmented Reality company Aurasma to create an app that allows us to do the same.

The Eye of Dante is an Augmented Reality application for iOS and Android devices that will allow DmC players to find hidden messages and reap rewards found within the real world. By using the app users become a member of the underground organization The Order. As a member of Vergil’s country club, users can complete missions, accomplish goals, and redeem points for in-game Red Orbs, the currency in DmC.

The trailer posted below shows the app in action. Augmented Reality is pretty neat on its own, but how many DmC fans out there will really commit to using this? Some are still up in arms about the change in gameplay; just look at that Youtube like-bar. I’d try it but alas I have a Windows Phone; to my own chagrin, I will not have a piece of Dante in my pants.

The Eye of Dante app is available right now for free on both the Apple and Google app store.
