Deadly Premonition Director’s Cut drops tons of screens, info

Rising Star Games has just dropped a mega-ton of screenshots for the upcoming Deadly Premonition Director’s Cut. In the drop, we can see a few graphical improvements, a new UI for York, character renders, and environment pictures. Along with the screenshots comes a release date of April 30th. There’s also talk of a new, “branching” ending. Does this mean that we can prevent that unfortunate incident that occurred at the end of the original game? I hope so!

While the visuals don’t look that much better than the original, the cleaner textures are welcome. My main reasons to pick up the Deadly Premonition Directors Cut are the revamped controls and new missions. The 3D and Move support may not be for me, but I’m sure someone will appreciate it. As for DLC info, it seems that the game will be supported with new costumes for York, cars, items, and housing. Does this mean that we can settle down in Greenvale post-campaign? Interesting.

Deadly Premonition Director’s Cut will be sold as a budget title for $40 at retail and is exclusive to the PlayStation 3.

Most interesting to me is the inclusion of a new ending, where hopefully a main character doesn’t die >.>

Additionally, only one difficulty setting??? What’s up with that?

I haven’t played the game but wasn’t it great because it was so bad it became hilarious?
If so, then won’t actual working controls take away from that humour?

No it was great because of the characters, story and music. Most people hated the controls.

i never had a prob with the controls. anyone whos ever player resident evil 1-3 had non probs but newcomers yeah, they didnt like it

Agreed. They’re shitty controls but they’re not impossible if you’ve played PS1 era horror titles.

unless you’re watching a lets play! then it’s soo funny to see people yell in rage when they see the driving controlls http://greenvale.shshatteredmemories.com/images/wt/driving.jpg
lol I love that pic Whitnety! you did a good job with it! (your whole guide is great!)

the controls were never that bad, just the driving was bad. but no that wasnt the charm it was the zany characters, insanely clever writing and just…everything. its a rare treat. they must have been high when they wrote the script because its so creative and funny. Thomas is hysterical. actually pretty creepy too, reminded me of clock tower 3 and resident evil 4 with some gta.

I liked the driving, Did a lot of it because I couldn’t be bothered to learn what each place was in Japanese. No fast travel for me.

First time driving with George and Emily, I mounted the pavement and two wheeled the car halfway down the street. It was great!

york with a beard is hot. best game ever made. im happy they didnt mess with the graphics. it has a charm that i was worried a new facelift would take away. better controls is the only thing the game needed. cant wait already pre ordered!!!!

“a new UI for York” — what does this mean? Just the improved controls?

Excited, personally. This game feels like playing Twin Peaks.
