Dead Space Movie Update
The Dead Space movie, something we’ve heard on and off about the last couple of years, seems to still exist. According to a recent interview with D.J. Caruso, after finishing up their current project (I Am Number Four) they will be working on a prequel to the game in movie form. The Dead Space series has a lot of prequels it seems. If I can do a little theorizing here, since they mention Unitology (as it’s real-life similar counterpart Scientology) and that Necromorphs “ultimately” have to appear, not to mention the prequel to the first game aspect and areas that still need to be explored, it wouldn’t be too out of the question for the movie to be based around the finding of the original Marker on Earth which kicked off the religion in the first place. Hopefully the movie can at least be halfway decent; horror games don’t exactly have the best track record for having good game to movie adaptions. Surprising since there is so much to pull from these titles but it always seems to end up less than it could be thanks to some poor choices in either direction or director..
This also continues EAs goal to plaster Dead Space on every medium physically possible. Hopefully it can maintain quality since this could either all pile up to be something amazing as an all-together experience or find itself to be an abundance of unneeded material. So far the track record is clean with no crap on it’s slate; Lets hope it stays that way.
