Dead Space 3 launches a launch trailer

A young lad from the Dutch countryside. Previously a military-student, but now a full-time IT-student and part-time game-designer and writer.

To get everybody hyped for the upcoming launch of Dead Space 3 on February 5 (the 8th for my fellow Europeans), Electronic Arts has released a new trailer titled “Take Down the Terror”. It aired on the Dead Space Youtube channel earlier today, but unlike previous trailers it does not show off any new mechanics or story elements.

It looks… alright. I am not very impressed and most of it is content we already know about (boy, this game loves snow a lot). There is nothing very wrong with the visuals themselves, but I am personally not convinced that this is what the highly controversial third installment of this franchise needed. There is a lot of hate flowing around currently and Isaac’s stroll through the snow along with some action-scenes is unlikely to win back any angry fans post-launch.

But hey, maybe it will appeal to those Mobile and Social gamers EA’s been trying to draw in!

    After playing the demo, I was unhappy and cancelled my pre-order. I’ll play it eventually but the gameplay felt way different, very forced. Sound cues were used to scare instead of the enemies and the cover system was so meh it brought nothing to the game. I also loved how after saving a unitologist from a necromorph, he proceeded to kill me. Jerk.
