American McGee wants to convince EA to let him make Alice 3

It’s probably known by now that I am a massive Alice fanboy and that of course means I’d go as far as to kill someone if it meant getting an Alice 3. Turns out that might be exactly the kind of fans McGee is looking for, though murder is currently reserved for a plan B.

The China-based developer who has been responsible for games like Quake and the episodic Grimm games took to Facebook earlier today to reveal his interest in talking to Electronic Arts about letting him make the next Alice game. Accompanied by a picture, McGee asked the following:

Alice Fans,
Questions for you:
1) If we could get the rights from EA, would you play “Alice 3?”
2) If you’d play “Alice 3,” would you back it on Kickstarter?
3) If you said “yes” to those two things, make some noise – I’m trying to gauge interest in case I happen to discuss this with EA during GDC in 2 weeks. The more interest there is, the more seriously they’ll take the conversation.

At the time of writing, the post has been liked 970 times, shared 278 times and has received 333 comments, so I’d say that fans are indeed making some noise. Will it be enough to convince EA? I suppose we’ll figure out in about two weeks.

The Game Developers Conference is held in San Francisco from March 25th to March 29th.

As if there were any doubt that I would support this. I mean, I can acknowledge that Madness Returns has some issues/poor design choices but I can also appreciate what it did right and the potential the series has.

YESYESYESYESYES…wait.. kickstarter? Nope. I mean i love both Alice games, but i don’t want to see a third one as an iOS/PC-only game. I would totally support it if they put it on consoles.

Console wankers can have their own opinion, not that anyone would listen to them anyway.

      Peace.

I first played American McGee’s Alice when it came with Alice Madness Returns, which I got on the Xbox 360. I enjoyed American McGee’s Alice and loved Alice Madness Returns. I would definitely want another game in the series, and perhaps I’d support it on Kickstarted, but I’d want there to be a console version.
