Whispers in the Dark Ep. 39: Podtoid is My Waifu

I'm a college student with a huge passion for gaming; horror being my favorite genre. I like to write about games in my spare time. When I'm not writing, I'm playing or talking about them. Hopefully this continues into what ever future employment I find myself in.

On this week’s Whispers‘ podcast Kyle and I praise the Destructoid podcast, Podtoid. This leads to us starting a “feud” with the insane podcast in hopes to get attention–we’re lonely. They told me to name this episode “Podtoid is My Waifu”. I have no clue what this means.

In other news, we discuss the PlayStation 4 a whole lot: what we think of the console and its features. I also talk about my Let’s Play projects and my hopes to go to PAX East if funds permit. Rourke enjoyed Silent Hill: Revelation, so we talk about that, Whitney says another dirty thing, and lastly, there’s a whole lot of talk about the next generation of video games.

    supergreatfriend made amazing LP’s of D and D2 and he’ll make Enemy Zero some day. I highly recommend watching these if playing the games is not an option.

    Kyle Campbell makes many great points in this podcast. Please continue to be a member because you make a great addition. It’s a shame that the new PS4 didn’t impress you, however, I would not get hung up on the backwards compatibility.

    Even though it is a hassle to have multiple consoles hooked up, it’s not as if your PS3 becomes unplayable. I don’t know about you guys but I think I used original Xbox and PS2 games in my current consoles only once or twice. Besides, Gaikai does seem to be capable of streaming all old games and I’m happy that Kyle explained the reasoning behind why they cannot support past games.

      Looks like my comment was cut off, argh. Bascally just wanted to finish up by saying that I don’t want to sound preachy or continue to show my Playstation love any more than I have to but what it comes down to is the games and whatever platform has the best games, regardless of which “race” it is, should be your platform of choice. That’s why I went with Playstation.

    yeah graphics aren’t important so NItnendo is gonna win the console wars. They know gameplay better then any publisher so yeah, i know i sound like a fanboy. cj made me sound like a bad guy in this podcast lol. I actually grew up with pc gaming i started with RE2 in pc but i still love consoles but i never own a lamebox :P

      @SecretX:disqus I understand where you coming from, I’m a Nintendo fan myself, but CJ commended Nintendo in 38 for releasing first party games on their handheld (unlike that other company *cough* I hate you sometimes Sony *cough*), and all he said was ‘some guy’ in 39. He didn’t sound like he was being mean and at-least he didn’t mention your name :/

      And I don’t care about graphics either :P But Wind Waker HD looks fucking beautiful :D
