I'm a college student with a huge passion for gaming; horror being my favorite genre. I love being afraid to turn a corner or turn around in my games. The creepier the better.

It’s our 10th episode! We go over a huge amount of news that has dropped since last time. The month of Silent Hill is discussed, the abysmal AMY is dissected, and a little thing called Resident Evil 6 gets theorized. And these are just the gaming things we talk about!

Is the month of Silent Hill a good thing?; will a more action oriented Resident Evil please fans, and will it have more horror?; Why did AMY have to be such a disappointing title? We answer all of these things in depth which tops this podcast off at 3-hours long.

    I bought AMY. Not finished it either, been playing Red Seeds Profile/Deadly Premonition. I just hate that checkpoints aren’t savepoints. I think that is a really bad choice in game design.

    In reference to my 3rd question: you define games as art and I define certain games as art aswell, but outside of the gaming-community games still seem to have a bad reputation. And one of the main reasons for that is definitely the fact that there are too many nonsensical and simply stupid mainstream-games and too few really artistic games like Silent Hill 2, Shadow of the Colossus or Dear Esther that stand out and set the bar really high. My question was basicly: do you think that games would be even better if developers could fully concentrate on developing creative games instead of being forced (by f.ex. shareholders) to produce “another mediocre shooter”?

    And do you think that games, as a unique, interactive media, would have a better reputation if there would be more mature and intellectual games? I truly think that developers have only scratched the surface so far. Dear Esther is definitely a step into the right direction. I think an article about this topic would be very interesting.

    I have now got 100% and the Platinum trophy on Red Seeds Profile. Just glad the PS3 trophy list doesn’t include ones for difficulty. That boss rush quest got my heart going, and that was only on easy.

    W00t. Rourke has returned!

    However, YOU HAVE TO BEAT MGS3 AND DEADLY PREMONITION! These games have two of the most emotionally moving endings in video game history.

    Think of MGS3 as a survival horror game. Those batteries that deplete? Think of it as a health bar that doesn’t charge up when you take cover. Those breaking silencers? Think of them as important as ammo is in survival horror games. Footprints and good eyesight? Think of it as a good challenge, like survival horror games are supposed to be.

    Trust me, Rourke, you will not be let down.

    I don’t mean to brag but I play MGS3 on European Extreme and have minimal difficulty. However, I’ve beaten that game so many times that I’ve lost count.

    P.S. I listened to the whole podcast, believe it or not.

    Oh, I forgot to mention, call Paramedic each time you find a new edible item. You get some amazing dialog. LOL.

    Okay finally got to listen to the podcast. Yep, when the whole team is present three hours seems to be so short and plus everyone sounds healthy and well.

    I agree on the questionable dates for SH titles. Can’t they just push Book of Memories for more polishing or something?

    Speaking of the Korn song. Maybe they’ll include it in an album and not the Downpour OST. I mean Megadeth had their Never Dead song in their last album thirt3en, So maybe a similar situation will be happen.

    And that noise was the fan. I thought it was a horror effect thingy! Keeeeeeep the fan XD

    Sinner’s sandwich context will be left for people who haven’t got the game.

    I have not finished the game ethier think Iam at chapter 4.

    I downloaded House of the Dead Overkill Extended Cut instead.

    Premise was great liked the fact one was protecting a little girl in a horror world.

    The looks was nice too.

    Gameplay however…You guys already covered that part.

    I hope Silent Hill borrows some of the premsie atleast,cus that would be a great way to introduce a female lead and a child protaganist into Silent Hill Univurse.

    Almost like Forbidden Siren.

    Guess I have too see what The last to us to get the right feeling between adult and child in horror setting(though they say its not a horror)

    Heavy Rain was pshycological horror( in away)maybe Last of Us is the same but mixed with Uncharted.
