New Details on Dead Rising, Case Zero **UPDATE!**

Dead Rising is set to release on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, but the 360 exclusive content has been making us scratch our heads.  So far details on Dead Rising: Case Zero so far have been fairly slim.  However, during the Save the Zombie event in Tokyo, Japan this past week, more details on both the Dead Rising movie and Case Zero have finally been revealed.

Case Zero takes place 3 years before the events of Dead Rising 2.  Dead Rising 2′s main protagonist, Chuck Greene is just ahead of a zombie outbreak in Fortune City.  But he’s not alone–in tow is his little daughter.  As if things weren’t bad enough, his little daughter has a big problem.  She’s been bitten by a zombie.  But Chuck Greene isn’t the type to lose hope–the only way to prevent his daughter from turning into a zombie is by injecting her with Zombrex every 12 hours.

And that’s where things get worse…The Zombrex is in his car.  And his car has been stolen.  When the zombies start attacking, it’s up to Chuck to make it through the infestation, find his car, and save his daughter.  Just like in the first game, the clock is ticking on Case Zero.

Dead Rising producer Keiji Inafune was not overly-revealing on the specifics of Case Zero, but did mention at the Save the Zombie event that Case Zero will release 1 month before Dead Rising, so you’ll have a month to absorb this heart-felt tale of a father’s love for his ailing daughter in a time of zombie apocalypse.

And absorb it you should!  Case Zero was also quoted as having a game time of about 3 hours for fast players.  So…how long will it take for slow players?  It looks like the 360 is the system to own on this release!  And quite possibly the best part about Case Zero?  It’s mostly free, serving as Dead Rising 2′s demo.  If you want to play the complete version, you’re going to have to dish out some cash, but if you choose to purchase and play the whole thing, you can transfer your save file to Dead Rising 2 and start the game with boosted character stats.

More details on Case Zero and Dead Rising 2 as they become available.  Thanks for sticking with us through the summer dry spell.

UPDATE:

Dead Rising: Case Zero will be available August 31 for 400 MS Points (around $5.ooUSD).
