We’re extending the love by contesting off several codes per platform, half for you and half for a loved one (or someone that you hope will finally notice you, today). The codes are for Dead Space 3‘s costume, weapon, and bot packs. We’ll be giving out codes for Origin, PSN, and Xbox Live.

How can you win a pack of these sexy codes for you and a loved one? Just leave a comment talking about your favorite Dead Space experience, whether in co-op or with a friend in the room (be sure to mention which platform you want the codes for!). Horror brings people together, didn’t you know? Try it. It’s the perfect ice breaker…is that weird for me to say? Whatever, I’ve been doing this for too long. Point is, make your Carver happy by winning she or he some codes to boost their Necromorph killing skills.

Directions: Leave a comment below detailing your favorite Dead Space experience either in co-op or with a friend in the room watching you play. Your comment must state which platform you are entering for (Origin, PSN, or Xbox Live). Make sure that your comment is assigned to an account with an email that you can be reached at. That last part is important!

Note: These codes will be for North American territories only. Three winners will be contacted some time tonight!

Update: All winners have been contacted and have received their prizes. Thanks for entering!

I loved the co op parts where Carver as helpless and Isac had to protect him and all of the monsters came at me, trying to kill both him and me.

I’m always scaring my little 8 year old brother. That’s what big brothers do, right? It’s one of our main jobs. So I’m playing Dead Space 3 (on my Xbox), it’s like 9pm and it’s dark. (You really can’t play a horror game during the daytime or with lights). I’m in the middle of killing that giant murdering drill and as everyone knows, it a ridiculously loud battle. After about a minute of demonic necro screeching, a thunderous javelin chain-gun, and that obnoxious drill, I finally win the day and return to relative silence. And just as I relax, my baby brother jump’s out and scares the literal piss outta me. I was the only one in the room and I guess I was just really in the game, so much that I didn’t see or hear him walk in. But yeah, pretty freaking scary.

I dated a guy a few years ago, and he wanted me to play a bit of Dead Space 2. At the time, I had only watched a friend play through the original game, and I am informed him of this. He still wanted me to play, so I had no idea why he wanted me to play a specific section of the second game.

It was the sequence where Isaac has to have a needle inserted into his eye. I don’t remember the entire reason why this procedure needed to be done to Isaac, but I just remember flipping out – this guy I was dating knew that watching anything being done to eyes (you know, needles, removal, that kind of thing!) freaked me out. Of course, I messed it up and ended up killing Isaac.

That was not such a lovely date, but definitely one of the more memorable experiences with the Dead Space series..

My best friend and I play games together constantly, for over a decade now. My wife (at the time girlfriend) was doing homework while my friend and I played the first Dead Space. The first time we turn around and got cut by a necromorph, I yelled out loud and my friend dropped the controller. My wife never lets us forget that, and whenever I call her a scaredy-cat, whether it’s during scary movies or whenever, she just looks at me and says “Dead Space,” and I hang my head and shut my mouth.

The day I bought the first Dead Space I was playing alone and the first ever necromorph I encountered completely spazzed out and went all glitchy. It started stretching around the room and I was like WTF O_o and that was the scariest moment I ever had with that game. T’was memorable.

It was actually this new Dead Space. My brother and I were playing coop. I played the demo at least 5 times. Totally forgot about the boss when you get on the lift and he cuts through the top. I think I about broke my bros ear drum with my girlish scream. Turtle beaches and darkness make any Dead Space moment better!!!

Back when I was playing the first Dead Space, my friend Keith was over, intently watching me from the floor. I was sitting in a folding chair.

As I reached the atrium section of the game (one of the two large areas covered in greenery and fungus) I snuck my way into some of the back rooms to kill one of the creatures that breathed poison gas into the air. I walked in, stomped it’s necro life out, and turned around. I suddenly heard what sounded like a dozen slashers outside, screaming and flailing their arms for me. I stood as far back away from the door as I could and waited… and waited… and waited still. They just kept screaming but wouldn’t come in the room!

“Move closer to the door,” Keith says.

“There’s like a thousand of them!” I responded.

Despite my fright, I slowly inched towards the door, occasionally stepping back just in case they were all going to run forward once I hit an invisible trip wire. As I got closer, I turned and turned until I was lined up with the door and could see into the other room, my body leaning forward and eyes glued to the screen.

One step further and I saw smoke fly out of the vent to my right side; it dawned on me too late! A slasher broke out of the vent and hit me! I jumped up in what felt like slow motion, screamed, “Oh, shit!” and slid out of my seat.

Keith fell over laughing and in the five years since, no horror game has made me fall out of my chair.

First time I was playing Dead Space, my 12 year old god son was watching with me. When he saw the one of the first slashers pop out the wall vent. He jumped up and hid underneath my bedroom covers like quivering ostrich.
Later, I used to pretend I was a slasher every time him would tick me off, I would raise my arms, hooked my hands like spikes, and make those gagging and screaming noises chasing around the house. He would squeal like a little girl,

and hide underneath my bed sheets laughing. We had fun.

The following story will contain no spoilers!

Ahh, okay. I’ve got a pretty great memory I can share regarding Dead Space 1. So, I’ve got this friend of mine who always tells me that games and movies just don’t scare him. I had asked him if he’d ever played Dead Space and he told me that the series looked dumb because you’re “some astronaut running around with a trash can on your head”. Luckily, I had a save near the end of the game and had an idea.

I told him that the ending of the game was one of the most frightening moments in a video game I have ever played. He, of course, shrugged and said for me to prove it. I, of course, agreed and proceeded to finish up the game. After defeating the boss and a few minutes pass, my friend says, sarcastically, “Yeah, dude. This ending is so scary!” A moment later, the climactic event that occurs before the credits roll happened. Not only did he fly out of his seat, he luckily took a swig of soda right before this event which then proceeded to shoot from his nose. I had never laughed so hard in my life. Just thinking about it now makes me “LOL”.

Even though he still believes he cannot be scared, I always love bringing up this story and making him feel stupid, haha. Thank you, Dead Space.

My favorite Dead Space moment was the infamous eyeball scene in Dead Space 2. My friend and I were alternating playing and at that point both of our jaws dropped. The music and sound effects made it that much more enjoyable.

I’m currently playing through Dead Space 3 on co-op with my girlfriend as she lives in another city, so it’s a great way for us to hang out and spend time together :’] long distance.

    Slight “Spoilers”

Our scariest DS3 moment so far was around 3:00am this morning, during “Chapter 18 Kill or Be Killed” (Align the Array). My girlfriend playing as Carver often likes to run ahead, opening new doors & checking rooms for items.

However on this occasion XD she proceeds with her pace for exploration and approaches a new door, upon opening she pelts head first not realising. When two massive “Ancient Alien” infected necromorphs! Lunge forward right on the opposite side of the door, attacking/screaming to high heaven!

Haha, it was a brilliant moment of sheer panic/screams over the headset & then laughing talking about it afterwards
    Xbox 360, Many Thanks!

My favorite Dead Space experience wouldn’t be an in-game moment. My friend had no idea what Dead Space was so I decided to show him Dead Space 2 with the lights off and tv turned up. This was all before he was about to set off to basic training for the military so we tried to hang out as much as possible. Freaking out together before he left would remain to be a special moment that Dead Space was able to bring for us. My favorite in-game experience would be the very first time that I started up Dead Space. I had no idea what Dead Space was because my brother was the one who had purchased the game. Taking the first step onto the Ishimura, I knew that this game was going to take me on a crazy ride. The atmosphere of the game was incredible to go from wide open space into a very tight corridor. To top off the moment, I remember the very first sequence running from necromorphs and making it into the elevator feeling safe and everything calming down for the moment and then suddenly BAM!!! A necromorph busting through the elevator doors only to be sliced in half. I have never been truly terrified by a game before and Dead Space has done a great job at scaring me and now the Dead Space series is my favorite series ever.

I was playing Dead Space 3′s early access demo with a friend on Xbox Live, and we had just gotten to the bench to escape hypothermia. We had been talking about how Tau Volantis reminded us of a ,’The Thing’ like scenery, and we were more paying attention to the scenery, up until several Necromorphs had Broken out of a glacier, and I was hearing my friend over the headset, shrilling and screaming for dear life, having never played a Dead Space game before. I had slightly gotten startled myself, but I didn’t emote as much as he had. It sure made my day! Xbox Live: haesuslipbalm@yahoo.com

Dead Space series has been close to my heart since I played the first game. I loved that claustrophobic feeling that the game gaved me. I remember the slogan “In space, no one can hear you scream” When I played the first game and encountered my first Necromoph I just froze.. It was the feeling that was been missing since I played the first Silent hill game and Dead Space gave me that. Blasting through my first necromorph corpse was one of the best gaming highlights of my horror gaming life. Let’s talk about the jump scares and those necromorphs popping out of the ventilationshaft it always gets me. The thrill of a horde of necromorphs chasing Isaac through a dark corridor is crazy..think about a scenario where you play hardcore mode with 1 ammo, 1 small bar of life and if you get killed you start all over again..from the beginning. I love that!!
Yesterday I finished the last game of the Dead Space series. To be honest it broked my heart, I shed some man tears thinking of what Isaac went through just to get to Ellie and saving humanity…but after the credits rolled (*SPOILER WARNING) I heard him calling for her and I knew…the Marker Killer will be back….
